The cheapest 7-seater MPV sold new in Belgium in 2026 is the Dacia Jogger, from €18,990. But the real budget play is mostly used, where a large 7-seater often sells under €15,000. Here is our ranking, with real boot space and 5-year cost in hand.
What is the cheapest 7-seater MPV in 2026?
New, it is the Dacia Jogger: from €18,990 in Essential Eco-G trim (petrol/LPG), Belgian catalogue price for June 2026, excluding options. It is the only true new 7-seater still sold under €25,000 in Belgium.
A cheap 7-seater MPV here means a three-row family car whose purchase price stays under about €25,000 new, or under €15,000 used and recent. The Jogger fits because Dacia accepts a simple finish and sober mechanicals, where other brands have migrated to the SUV.
Concretely, the hybrid 155 (Journey trim) climbs to around €27,490, the ceiling of our "cheap" bracket. Below the Jogger, no new 7-seater exists: it is the single entry point into the segment on the new-car side.
Should you buy a 7-seater new or used?
On a tight budget, used wins almost every time. Apart from the Dacia Jogger, the new 7-seat offer has nearly disappeared in Europe: a 4-to-5-year-old large MPV often costs half as much as an equivalent new 7-seat SUV.
European makers have stopped most MPVs (Renault Grand Scénic, Ford Grand C-Max, Volkswagen Sharan) to focus their ranges on SUVs. As a result, the affordable 7-seater market is now a second-hand market, fed by families selling after a few years.
A concrete example: the Renault Grand Scénic IV, out of production since 2023, remains the best used deal in the segment, between €11,000 and €22,000. For €15,000 you target a 2019-2020 model showing 70,000 to 90,000 km. Hard to beat on real 7-seat versatility.
How did we build this ranking?
We compare each model on the four criteria that truly matter to a family, not on marketing.
| Criterion | Source |
|---|---|
| Price | BE catalogue and used values, June 2026, excluding options |
| Boot | Manufacturer data, in 5 AND 7 seats |
| Isofix points | Number of points and bench width |
| 5-year cost | Purchase, fuel, servicing, depreciation estimated |
No affiliate link steers this ranking. No brand pays us. Used values come from Belgian listings (AutoScout24, 2ememain) and new prices from the Dacia Belgium catalogue for June 2026.
Which cheap 7-seater MPV should you choose?
Three profiles stand out: the Dacia Jogger for the cheapest new car, the Renault Grand Scénic IV for the best all-round used deal, and the SEAT Alhambra / Volkswagen Sharan duo for the most space per euro.

The Jogger is unbeatable to buy new, but its third row is for occasional use rather than daily. The Grand Scénic IV offers better modularity and finish for a contained used budget. The Alhambra and Sharan, older and therefore heavily discounted, are the only ones to offer seven genuine adult seats with sliding doors.
| Model | Seats | BE price from | Boot 7 st. | Profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dacia Jogger | 5/7 | ~€18,990 (new) | ~160 L | Cheapest new |
| Renault Grand Scénic IV | 5/7 | ~€11,000 (used) | ~189 L | Best used deal |
| Volkswagen Touran | 5/7 | ~€15,000 (used) | ~137 L | Safe bet |
| SEAT Alhambra / VW Sharan | 7 | ~€9,000 (used) | ~267 L | Genuine 7 seats |

How many Isofix child seats fit in a 7-seater MPV?
Most 7-seater MPVs offer 2 Isofix points on the second row. Fitting three child seats side by side is the exception: it all comes down to bench width and anchor spacing.
For a family with three young children, this is the decisive criterion and the one most often skipped by generalist comparisons. A car advertised as a 7-seater may only take two child seats side by side, the third having to move to the third row, which does not always have Isofix.
On the Belgian market, the Volkswagen Touran is one of the few compacts to offer well-spaced Isofix anchors, plus a point on the front passenger seat. The Dacia Jogger is limited to 2 rear Isofix points. In every case, test with your own seats before signing: two models in the same class can give opposite results.
What is the total 5-year cost of a 7-seater MPV?
The purchase price does not tell the whole story: over 5 years, a cheap 7-seater MPV costs between €25,000 and €33,000 all in, depending on whether you start from new or used.
Total cost adds up the purchase (or the depreciation taken), fuel, insurance, servicing and tyres. This is where the mechanical sobriety of these models pays off against a heavier, thirstier SUV.
A worked example for a Dacia Jogger Eco-G bought new at around €19,000 and driven 15,000 km/year in Belgium: about €6,000 of LPG fuel over 5 years, €2,500 of servicing, and moderate depreciation thanks to an already low purchase price. Estimated total: €30,000 to €33,000. A good used deal (Grand Scénic at €15,000) often drops under €25,000 over the same period.
One awkward point for the self-employed: since 2026, the tax deductibility of a combustion-engine company car has dropped sharply, and only 0 g CO₂ (electric) stays 100% deductible. A cheap petrol or LPG MPV remains an excellent private buy, but a poor choice on a company lease.
What pitfalls should you watch on a used 7-seater MPV?
The biggest risk with a used 7-seater is buying a heavily worked car (taxi, large family, shuttle) whose servicing has been neglected. Three checks remove almost all of the risk.
What maximum mileage should you target?
Aim under 150,000 km with a full service book. Beyond that it is not a deal-breaker if the major items (timing belt, clutch) are done and invoiced, but the price must drop accordingly. A well-maintained family diesel takes the miles better than a stressed small petrol engine.
Which expensive failures should you watch?
On these MPVs, the costly items are the automatic gearbox (check for jerky shifts), the seat modularity system (rails, latches) and, on PHEV or hybrid, the battery state. A test drive with all 7 seats operated quickly reveals tired mechanisms.
Should you favour a warranty?
Yes, whenever the budget allows. A car sold by a Belgian professional with a warranty (12 months minimum) costs more than a private sale, but it covers exactly the heavy failures listed above. On a family 7-seater that covers a lot of kilometres, it is insurance that pays off.
To go further, compare the whole segment in our best family MPV comparison, or look at a 7-seat family SUV if the high driving position matters to you.
